THE TREE OF LIFE

3/25/2020

Sometimes at night
For no reason
I break down and cry
At a random time
And suddenly I have flashbacks to the past
When I once thought I wouldn't last

The tree of life was dead to me
Every day on earth was like a disease-spree
I hated God and I believed all the lies
My face was aging with every tear-line
The only crystal clear thing I saw
Were streams from my eyes, in the mirror on the wall
I could see myself, plainly
"I'm not good enough"
It must be true because the one I love hates me
So, I hate me, too

Sometimes at night
I curl up and sigh
And I try not to cry
Because I feel like a baby that can't think or decide
For myself
All I want is something for myself
But my heart's on the shelf
You want someone else
You're sick
So, I feel sick
I can't move, I'm weak

The tree of life was dead to me
Every day on earth was like a disease-spree
I hated God and I believed all the lies
My face was aging with every tear-line
The only crystal clear thing I saw
Were streams from my eyes, in the mirror on the wall
I could see myself, plainly
"I'm not good enough"
It must be true because the one I love hates me
So, I hate me, too

My friends
Betrayed me
I'm broken and bleeding
But if I've learned one thing
The blood isn't on my hands
Because what you give
Is exactly what you'll receive
By God's wrath, times three

The tree of life suddenly began to bloom
And I saw my doom drifting away soon
The skies turned blue and grass turned green
I was blinded by all the demons I had seen
All I wanted was to give my love
But you just weren't appreciative enough
It must be true because the one I loved hates me
That's just fine because I hate you too

Because sometimes at night
For no reason
I break down and cry
At a random time
And suddenly I have flashbacks to the past
When I once thought I wouldn't last

By the grace of God, all is forgiven
And above Narcissistic Abuse, I have risen
